My humble offering here for Erin's color challenge. Orange is my color although I think I may have veered a bit from the citrus pallet she chose for me. Actually these earrings are the first that I made, and the only piece I finished. There are felted components unembellished and more crocheted medallions unassembled. And a few ideas still swirling around in my head. Which I think was part of the point of the challenge anyway. I love orange it seems. For some reason it is never the first color I "go" for. I don't know why. There are a zillion shades, tones and mixes of this marvelous color and yet for some reason when I think of orange I think of Home Depot and pylon cones. Ridiculous. Be sure to check out the other designers blogs to see what wonderful pieces they have made. If you click on the title links they will take you to Jessica's pages featuring her spectacular color pallets. Happy Hopping!!

ReplyDeleteSo very cool! And I mean that in a 'warm" way! Here's a mind picture for you. From now on, when you think of orange, think gorgeous sunsets, sitting on the beach, wearing your lovely orange earrings. I have recently renewed my love affair with crochet, and I am thrilled to find new ways to use it. I'll look forward to seeing the other items you played with if you post them later.
ReplyDeleteOrange is a tough color nut for most people to crack! My daughter Tiny Dance has now adopted orange as her favorite color and will like it not matter what it is if it is orange! So I am developing a new appreciate for the color. I love what you did. These look very soft and touchable. And very lightweight too! Thank you for taking on the challenge of color with me!

ReplyDeleteLovely, playful earrings! I like that you used ombré/variegated yarn and made the top cicles lighter, which adds interest to the design. The choice of metal colour looks so nice together with the orange. Fab job!
ReplyDeleteWhat gorgeous earrings...I cannot crochet at all...so they look quite difficult to me. I love the colour variation and the fact they are nice and light on the ear and will dangle. Orange is a HARD colour in my eye to work with... you did well.
