I Woke Up Feeling Violet
I woke up with all shades of violet on my mind. Don't know what that is all about. Maybe it is an emerging spring and all the anticipation of color. A close up of a pot of purple daisys I picked up at the market a few weeks ago. Their color is starting to change, but as you can see it is still pretty intense. They smell good too. Fresh and earthy.
They inspired me to do a little batch of felt balls. I got some wool yesterday from Fleece Makers. It is undyed and I can't wait to play with some dye again. Maybe that is where the purple visions are stemming from. I am on my way out to the fiber shop to pick some up.

Last weekend on vacation, my color days were yellow and orange and purple. So much sunshine and so many wonderful, blooming flowers! But since I have returned home, my days have been grey with clouds, rain, cold temps and no torch time. Summer needs to hurry up her arrival. I need heat!
ReplyDeleteJust like you, I often wake up in a colour kind of mood. Lately, I have been having blue days. A good kind of blue. The sun is out and the sky is a very intense blue with no clouds. I can see it from my work table and it makes me happy.
ReplyDeleteAs I rush about each morning, getting ready for work and trying to pull in a few chores, such as hanging out the washing, I always feel drawn to some particular colour or other in my wardrobe. Some days I feel the need for soft pink and rose quartz, others I might need turquoise or brown (smokey quartz). I always feel energised if I wear bright red or orange. The choice is almost involuntary, as if I just don't see the other colours there and am compelled to wear my "colour of the day". Wierd but true.
ReplyDeleteMy colour days are purple and brown, usually. I like those colours and they appeal to me. They make me happy! Other days its white. a nice and spotless, pure white. Makes me think of angels!
ReplyDeleteMy color days lately are yellow since we have actually had sunshine and now my forsythia and daffodils are in bloom! I love your violet though - one of my favorite colors.
ReplyDeleteWonderful! (I recognize that necklace! :)
ReplyDeleteI am reminded of my favorite Dr Seuss book, My Many Colored Days... "Some days are yellow, some days are blue. On different days, I'm different too. You'd be surprised how many ways I change on different colored days." Today is a bit of a gray day ("everything is gray. I watch but nothing moves today."). But this weekend is the start of Spring Break, and although I am not going anyplace far (2 hours away for the state basketball tournament that my son is playing in) I think it will be more "on bright red days how good it feels, to be a horse and kick my heels"!
Congrats on your first giveaway.
Enjoy the day!

Color Days. I tend to paint in yellows. I think I am influenced by the colors of my walls. Yellow is a cheery color and don't we all need to try and be in a cheery mood?
ReplyDeleteMy colors used to be gray and lavender. Now,they're changing to blue and deep purple.I am influenced by my thoughts.I'd like to change my thoughts.
ReplyDeleteI am a purple girl all the way. Except when I'm blue - I'm very blue, many different shades. I really like purple and blue together. My kitchen and dining room are blue, orange, and yellow. I couldn't really figure out how to get purple into my house, too much. Thanks for the giveaway chance!
ReplyDeleteI like every color, solids or all at once in a wild pattern. I do have a fondness for purple as you would see in my wardrobe. I especially like it when mixed with the complementary shades of gold/yellow and a touch of green. In spring, it's the purples and yellows that come up first in my yard. The forsythia is blooming -- that's always the sign that spring is really here. After this long, gray, miserable winter, I am glad to see sunshine and color!
ReplyDeleteI just discovered your blog and I am a new follower! To answer your question about favorite colors, I love blue, especially a deep royal blue. I have blue eyes and others tell me that my eyes "pop" when I wear blue, so I go with it as much as possible. If I had my choice, my house would be filled with everything blue, but try to limit it to tons of blue glass vases and other blue ornaments in my window sills. Love the necklace with all the beautiful colors, and would love a chance to win.
