Well we here. It's been a little over a month and we're still unpacking. Not too much more though. Now it is more about organizing I guess. Up until yesterday it has been so hot that it still felt like the middle of summer and consequently I had "season disorientation". I miss Michigan. I miss the fall in Michigan. The smells. The cool air and the warm sunshine-when it shines of course. Yesterday was sunny and cool here, but the trees are a little different and the air is different so the smells are different. I miss my house. So much. It was a little unpretentious house but it was so well built. Quality. This house is big. It is not cozy. It is not well built. It is not mine yet I guess. It does have a beautiful pool and at times it is filled with beautiful and fabulous loves of my life. So I guess as long as I am where they are all is well.

Congratulations on surviving your first month! Hopefully at this stage, every day gets a little easier and contains a bit more routine. Before you know it that last box will be emptied (or hidden LOL).
ReplyDeleteHope you are in a wonderful neighbourhood so you can begin those first precious new friendships. In the meantime, your old and new traditions with your family will soon transform that house into a Home. It matters so much less where you live, and so much more with whom you share your life. Take care and reflect on how much you have already accomplished!
Moving is so stressful...it takes awhile for your new place to feel like home. I hope that happens for you soon...thank you so much for your kind comment about my poem. I appreciate it so much!
ReplyDeleteMoving definitely is stressful, whether or not it is something you look forward to. It takes time to settle in emotionally but one day you will look around and feel you are finally home!
ReplyDeleteBe well...
Cheers
So nice to hear how you are doing! I love the new photo of you! You will eventually make the house more you. Bake a cake with autumn spices to make your house smell like autumn! That will make you fell a little better!
