Focus on Life , week two, our focus assignment is to incorporate our word for the year. Create is mine. Have to do it. Have to, have to , have to...... Even if it means staying up past my bedtime so that I have a few uninterrupted hours to myself. I signed up for an online class the other day with Magaly Ohika from The Itsy Bitsy Spill. I don't even know how I got to her shop. But one of the classes she offers is for four sessions, each one focusing on a different painting. This was the first. A self portrait with myself as an animal. Owls are my favorite. So I am wearing an owl hat. I am holding my baby birds and we are standing in our balloon garden. My boys go NUTS over balloons. Particularly red ones. Beautiful sunshine beams on our world. There is peace. I can't even tell you how good this feels to have painted something again and love it and be on time too!! Check out what the other participants in this wonderful project have posted. Just click on the Focus on Life Button on my side bar. I think I will go to sleep now:)

Create...to bring forth what comes from inside...I believe this is our purpose for being alive...awesome painting...
ReplyDeleteWhat a great word, and your painting is darling!!!! I don't know what I would do if I couldn't create. But there are times when I have to force myself to sit at the bead table. Though there are many who are way more talented than me, I am always thankful for my talents.
ReplyDeleteThat is a great word and something dear to the hearts of most of us. Your painting is wonderful. I love the owl hat.
ReplyDeleteCreate is one of my Favorite words in the English language!

ReplyDeleteI truly love your painting-especially you holding your two little birds! Create is truly a powerful word-think how stagnant our world would be if we did not express ourselves creatively!
ReplyDeleteLove your painting! The colors, the style, the whimsy. To create is to nurture the soul.

ReplyDeleteI am so happy for you, Two posts in Two days!!! this itself is reason to celebrate, it sounds like you are carving out time for yourself finally (well, even if it is at the expense of sleep time).
ReplyDeleteI'm averaging abt one post every two months these days. And no one reads them anyhow . . . . So: congrats too on all your comments.
Love, love, love the painting and your word. Although it's not my word, I plan to do more creating this year.

This is a bright and cheerful painting that will be the start of your journey and recall the freedom that come from following our call to create! I wish you joy in the journey this year! Enjoy the day. Erin
